Hi!

I am Asha, a transplant from India, living in Fairfield, CT, being a photographer, writer and an accidental entrepreneur. Welcome to fork spoon knife, a place where I record my life in food memories through my camera lens and the wanderings of my mind. I have been penning on this space since May 2008!

My background is in business, sales and financial strategy and I have had the opportunity to apply my former experiences into the digital marketing world by partnering and consulting to food and leisure brands. Through this blog. I have collaborated with several food and beverage, and, leisure clients clients on delivering their brand through recipes, photographs, feature pieces. I have had the fortune of meeting some amazing along the way and have enjoyed getting to know people, their businesses, and, often, their passions.

Currently, I am affiliated as a journalist with Daily Meal. My work has been also featured on Redbook Magazine, The Kitchn, Gourmet Live, Honest Cooking Magazine, Spenser Magazine among others.

In 2014, I launched FOODLY, a service oriented to inspiring people to cook more by teaching them to appreciate food and giving them ideas that work for their lifestyle. It was ramped down in 2015. The venture was my first foray in the world of food sustainability and came with a lot of learning, sometimes, very hard ones, but all very enriching and insightful.

In Spring of 2014, again, I also started a digital food magazine, NOURISHED, with the aim of creating a magazine that is accessible and affordable and delivers great value. Nourished is a quarterly magazine, with seasonal recipes and stories and lots of photographs. I am seriously chuffed about it. Being a e-book, my hope is that it will be used more in the kitchen rather than languishing on a shelf. It has had a surprising and heartwarming engagement with readers across the globe!
