Unicorns and rainbows. That’s the general theme in our house when you have two little girls, no matter how non-Disney your home life may be! TF2 chose pavlova, inspired by an onside of Bluey. TF1 was on board as long as we could add colors. You see where that is going. One wanted blue and green, another pink and red. Eventually they collaborated on it being Rainbow. So many lessons learnt and we got to eat our cake too! :)

Corolli Rossi - Sweet Pink Cookies For Little Hands
When I saw the photo of these Corolli rossi in Emiko’s Acquacotta, I knew I had the next bake! That they were pink was, quite literally, icing on the cake… for the 3 year old adores pink! I made some modifications on the quantity and also the liquor used, as noted below.

TF and baked this bread together, every step! it was a delightful novelty for her, and, as she stacked them into the pan, she was fascinated by the similarity with the stripes on her favorite animal - the zebra. That was the shift. To me, it was simply a reformatted pull apart bread. For her, it was so much more animated and wondrous! Thus the name “Zebra Bread”, for its reminder that looking through a child’s eyes can definitely be a mind bend, often for the positive! And, a note to self to do it more often!

I proclaim ‘cranberries’ as the new love berry.
There you have it! That’s the gist of this post.
You see I feel the cranberry is very underrated red fruit. So, I am resurrecting its glory in these scones and making it the centerpiece of my day! Now, the thing about them is they are indeed hard to love. There is an acid tartness to them that you either fall head first for, or, decide there are easier fruit to lust after. But, if you look at the whole package and beyond the cutting first taste and look how it melts and loses its hard exterior to become a soft, succulent package with just a little love (and heat), you can truly appreciate it’s worth.

It has been a life changing year! And, really looking back at the the last 10 years when I have been blogging, I am at a loss for words to describe the transformation I have been through. That tonguetied-ness has been a reason for my quiet here. But…. I’ll try…! :)
So, as I was reflecting on 10 years of blogging and trying to figure what that milestone head would read, I realized that it was not about blogging but how one small step into this world, changed my entire life. Not entirely on its own, but like a stone gathering momentum, it set things in motion, it tweaked things in me, opened my eyes to certain qualities in myself and others, met so many interesting people, changed careers….. Starting this blog just created a little path in a new forest and that took to a place that I would never have imagined myself to be in 10 years ago - physically, metaphysically, emotionally, psychologically.
